The Seahorse Inn at Boydtown on the shore of Twofold Bay

On the shores of Twofold Bay there’s a story of big dreams, beauty and staying power. Boydtown and its crown jewel, the Seahorse Inn, still show off both Benjamin Boyd’s vision and this gorgeous stretch of Australian coast. The place inspired our newest song, “Where Dreams Still Stand”, a heartfelt Australian folk song about Boydtown’s history and natural beauty.

A song inspired by history and beauty

Benjamin Boyd first built the Seahorse Inn in 1843 as part of his grand plan to make Boydtown the capital of Australia. His dream was bigger than he could manage, but the inn is still standing, a mix of history and modern luxury. “Where Dreams Still Stand” looks back on Boyd’s vision while celebrating what the place has become, somewhere lovely for visitors to stay and enjoy.

With lyrics that honour both the past and the present, the song is a natural match for the scenery of Twofold Bay. It’s a song for the waves, the gum trees and the sandstone of the inn itself, where history and nature sit side by side.

A look around Boydtown

To bring the song to life, we’ve paired it with pictures of the Seahorse Inn and the bay around it.

The 360° panorama takes in the whole of Twofold Bay in one sweep, from the turquoise water to the golden sand and the green hills behind. The 180° panoramas come in closer to the inn itself, with its neat lawns and the bay as a backdrop, showing how well the building and the landscape fit together. The still photos pick out the details, from the inn’s sandstone walls to the gentle curve of the beach, and each one tells a bit of the story, just like the song.

The song and the bay together

Picture yourself floating over the bay with a gentle acoustic guitar and warm duet harmonies playing along. If you love history, folk music or simply being out in nature, this one’s for you.
